The villa

Space, privacy and a view that doesn't quit

Casa Roseena is a detached three-bedroom villa on the edge of Tindaya, a traditional village at the foot of the island's sacred mountain. It stands in 1,300 m² of tropical gardens, planted with Canarian flora and enclosed by a traditional volcanic stone wall, with a sliding gate and a large parking area at the front. Everything you need is on the ground floor — kitchen, dining and seating area in the middle, with a bedroom and bathroom at each end — and upstairs there's a relaxed lounge that opens onto a big roof terrace looking out to the Atlantic, Montaña Tindaya and the countryside around. Behind the villa is the private pool, with a terrace, an outdoor shower and two pergolas: one open, one glass-enclosed with three big sliding doors, so you can eat out of the sun by day and watch the stars in the evening. The three bedrooms (a master with ensuite, a double and a twin) all have fans, hairdryers and mosquito screens, and the fully equipped kitchen has a dishwasher and a Dolce Gusto machine. The villa sleeps six. Bookings can start on any day of the week, subject to availability, with check-in from 3 pm and check-out by 11 am. A car is highly recommended, and the airport is about 35 minutes away. Stays of up to three months are welcome, with regular cleans arranged for longer bookings.

Tindaya, Fuerteventura

At the foot of the sacred mountain

Secluded beaches are about ten minutes by car, Villaverde ten, Corralejo and El Cotillo about thirty, and the airport about thirty-five.

Tindaya sits at the foot of Montaña Tindaya, a sacred site for the island's prehistoric Mahos people, who carved hundreds of engravings on its slopes; it is now a protected natural area and a Site of Cultural Interest. The village has three café bars, a restaurant and three small shops, with freshly baked bread twice a day, and it's home to the factory that makes Queso Majorero, the island's goat's cheese. Villaverde has a larger supermarket, and from here the whole of the north is within easy reach: Corralejo's dunes and the boat to Isla de Lobos, the lagoons of El Cotillo, the artisan markets of Lajares, and the secluded beaches of Playa Tebeto and Playa Jurago, just ten minutes away.
